The River

The Tully's
Been Waiting.

The Tully River carves through one of the oldest rainforests on earth. Grade 2-3 rapids fed by Australia's highest rainfall catchment. Ancient canyon walls. Water that has been running this course longer than anything you've built.

Year-round flow. More powerful in summer. The afternoon dam release guarantees consistent white water on every session. This isn't a river that depends on weather. It depends on physics.

The Tully has been humbling adventurers since 1976. It's still not done.

FAQ

Questions.

What's the difference between Sports Raft and River Raft?

Same river. Same price. The sports raft is a self-drive raft for 1–2 people. You and your partner steer and paddle. The river raft holds up to 8 people with a local guide inside calling the commands. Both run on the Tully with local expert guides. The difference is how you engage with the water.

What's included in the $150 price?

Everything. All equipment, safety gear, wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, transport to and from the river, and your guide. $150 per person, all-inclusive. No hidden levy. No surprises on the day.

How long does the experience take from Mission Beach?

The Tully River is 45 minutes from Mission Beach. You'll be on the water for approximately 2.5 hours, back in town by early evening. Half a day, not a full-day commitment.

What should I wear and bring?

Swimmers, sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet (no thongs). We provide everything else: wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, paddle, and the raft. Leave valuables in your car or at your accommodation.

Can I book as a solo?

Enquire with us directly. We can sometimes pair solo paddlers with another single booking, or we can discuss other options. The sports raft is built for two, so we'll work with you to find the right fit. The river raft welcomes individual bookings as part of a group.

Do you run morning and afternoon sessions?

Yes — when the river’s running natural flow we go AM and PM. When we’re relying on the afternoon dam release for water, sessions run in the PM. Either way, you’re guaranteed white water on a real river. Your guide confirms timing on booking.

What's the minimum age?

Age 6. Wildside is the only commercial Tully River operator with a minimum age of 6. Both the sports raft and river raft welcome children from age 6 with a parent or guardian.

Choose Your Wild.

The Tully is 45 minutes from Mission Beach. Same river as everyone else. Fraction of the travel.
